So after dipping my toes yet again into PyCharm, it is full of bugs just to get started. See my trail of issues here:
The entire ecosystem of Sublimt is so much easier and intuitive than other so called IDE. It is fast and clean once you get the hang of it. I have tried both VSCode and Pycharm. The Java IDEs and VisualStudio are so bloated with functionality you never use. You just install what you want. This Sublime is definitely is worth the tiny amounts they charge for.
I have confirmed that my preferred development environment of Sublime has the following features I was after:
https://codexns.io/products/sftp_for_sublime
https://github.com/domeide/sublime-docker
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/38311482/integrating-docker-with-xdebug-and-sublime-text-on-php-environment
I did not know but there seems to be package ecosystem for Sublime
https://packagecontrol.io/
Other options from within packagecontrol.io
https://packagecontrol.io/packages/Docker%20Based%20Build%20Systems
https://packagecontrol.io/packages/SFTP <– this works !
This might be helpful to https://packagecontrol.io/packages/Rsync%20SSH Not really optimal for MacOS.
Sublime seems not to have a project manager like other pro IDEs like Pycharm so use this:
https://forum.sublimetext.com/t/a-neater-project-manager/13724
Or this https://packagecontrol.io/packages/ProjectManager
and https://github.com/randy3k/ProjectManager
but see the video tutorial on how to use ProjectManager
https://laracasts.com/series/professional-php-workflow-in-sublime-text/episodes/9
Version control locally https://packagecontrol.io/packages/Local%20History <– this works
How to remove Sublime package https://forum.sublimetext.com/t/uninstall-packages/24211
Run Python interpreter with this https://packagecontrol.io/packages/SublimeREPL <– this works
Plus it is only $65 for a business license for 10 seats.
