A Facebook contact posted this story about $500k software developers. The funny thing is I saw a PIMCO ad which tells me some odd things about geo-targeting advertising. The first question that popped in my mind was: does PIMCO really pay their software developers that much?

Equations for futures and options trading
All of the equations are ready to be implemented into my Matlab environment. Each equation will be separated into its own unique M function to eventually be implemented into my Simulink trading models.
These came from the book

I find this strange on how Tasty Trade are now getting into quant with these math equations, Greeks for options trading.
This is starting to appear more. Is he starting to see the validity of it?

These have been analyzed by some really good quant Matlab analysts. The conclusion is that this code is really poor for those that cannot pick it up. It may work or may not. Some of the samples are well documented but some are commented with no references to the equations. These examples render the sample code useless. As a result, you may be best to avoid this site and use better sample code elsewhere online. We thought it would be decent reference code but without the proper sources, the code is of use no use.

For a techie like me, you would think the technology, programming languages, and software tools would make you a better quant wanna-bee. I would say that ain’t true, focus on the math. Read the books from Wilmott and Hull. The technooy only plays a support role as the math is the center point to all things called quant. Focus on the quant analytics. Use Matlab as a primary source. Can’t afford it, get Octave as it is a decent clone to Matlab. Either tool is very close to the language of math. Learn the math through various Youtube sources I provide for the quant analytics.
