Sensitive Alfresco developer does not like his product getting bashed. Boo hoo.

A rather dumb junior level Alfresco developer decided to respond to today’s bashing of this peice of turd It all started at:

Rather than crying like a little girl on your ad-laden, impossible to read fail of a blog, you could come up with some constructive criticism. How would *you* document newer APIs that are introduced with new versions? I’ve worked with Alfresco for six months now don’t have any problem with these docs.
Maybe working with advanced web applications just isn’t for you. Have you considered a career sweeping roads?

You are a real pure stupid idiot. Do your research or even better dig deeper on the gripes on this blog about Alfresco. Also, this blog gets over 400 daily unique visitors. Also, many query to see if Alfresco is worth it. We say no! Two very high profile clients now question it. I mean BIG!!! We are suggesting to dump it on the next renewal of their subscriptions. It is cheap for a reason.

Oh yeah, explain the reasons why there are reviews of people moving to Open CMS or Magnolia due to Alfresco’s complexity. As for this comment, it make me believe you are an internal hack at Alfresco. As for APIs evolvement, I really like it when one version breaks the previous one. Dumb engineering. Maybe you are one their dumb so-called engineers? I think you really got your head up your arse! As long as you develop with Alfresco, you are really pigeon holing your career. But of course, you must a junior fool who decided to work this turd called Alfresco. Or better yet, you have no other experience.

We should consider dedicating a whole blog on why not to use Alfresco. But why would we? We got better things to do and be more productive with something else. As for calling Alfresco an advanced web application is a real comedy show. Makes me think Joomla or Drupal may be a better choice. Oh how does it cost?? Zippo dollars. I await your foolish reply.

I now think it is time to move on from this. Alfresco has been a waste of over 9 months of my life. Time to get back into the game of real development. I hope to also end this rather fun and comedy show called Alfresco.

I have again abandoned Alfresco. Here is why it is the worst Java based technology platform ever!

I have again abandoned Alfresco. Here is why it is the worst Java based technology platform ever!
So I have formally given up Alfresco again. We have a paid customer using Alfresco Community 3.2. As a previous useless developer decided to both badly configure Alfresco and left no system application document, I have been parachuted in to rescue this horribly coded Alfresco project. It is a fairly large installation but as of today, I have abandoned ship on this complete turd. Both the application and Alfresco are pretty well dead in the water. Here is why:
1. The documentation in Alfresco is horrid. Their wiki only confuses the matter with these different source code lines and nothing is being really back ward compatible.
2. The Alfresco forum is next to run by a bunch of un-experienced Alfresco users asking millions of questions on how to do this and that. Many questions go left unanswered. I am quite surprised there are a couple of forums outside of Alfresco where you can get better help.
3. Extending Alfresco is pretty complicated. There is a lack of proper examples or better yet tutorials on how to do things.
4. There is no sense of community or support to move forward when you get stuck on major development issues. One classic example is the life cycle of these workflows. I am still confused and would never ever guess on what or how it works anymore. You will hit a new level of frustration that you never experienced. Remember the documentation is pretty lacking.
5. As compared to another Java based technology platform called Wowza Media Server, I was very confident to be able to get quick answers out of Wowza’s support staff to move ahead. Alfresco don’t even know what this is about as they hope their community will help each other out. Sorry, but what a joke.
6. As the client having paid for a license, this will be the second recommendation to not renew Alfresco and abandon it to replace it with something like OpenCMS, Magnolia, or something similar.
I can now have my sanity back and throw Alfresco back in the garbage where it belongs!!!
P.S. If you are from Alfresco, I would read this before responding:

Seriously, I question this company and their support policies. We cannot even get answers on open bugs. Pretty serious stuff indeed if this continues.

What a waste of time:
Man, I am trying Adobe Flash Builder 4. I have no idea what is what, but adding one piece of code into an mxml in Flash Builder breaks it. What a pile of poo!
The following breaks a standard Flash Builder 4 file.

From Alfresco: Let’s confuse those poor 3rd party developer saps with multiple versions of this Javascript API
Yes you heard correct. The junk process of making everything backward incompatible. Another smart software engineering process over at Alfresco. Right from their wiki
? For the next version of Alfresco (3.4.X and HEAD) 3.4 Java Script API and 3.4 Java Script Services
? Alfresco 3.3 code line 3.3 Java Script API and 3.3 Java Script Services
? Alfresco 3.2 code line 3.2_JavaScript_API and 3.2 Java Script Services
? Alfresco 3.1 code line 3.1_JavaScript_API and 3.0 Java Script Services (no changes from 3.0)
? Labs 3D/STABLE and 3.0.XE code line: 3.0_JavaScript_API and 3.0 Java Script Services
? For older Alfresco 2.1 or previous versions JavaScript API For Alfresco 2.1.

Confused|? So am I? Nice!

Dear Alfresco: Why can you not use Wowza as a development model for us third party developers?

Dear Alfresco: Why can you not use Wowza as a development model for us third party developers?
As I am working with both Alfresco the wonderful engineering piece of poo tool and Wowza, it makes me wonder why Alfresco engineers never thought of what Wowza is doing. Wowza includes an integrated development environment (IDE) based on Eclipse. This enables you modify any interaction or use the Wowza API using Java code or Flash client code. It seems to ve quite easy, great forum support from Wowza themselves, and excellent example files to get you started out of the box pretty quickly. Too bad Alfresco cannot think of this. Also, Alfresco’s product is much more complex so there is even a greater need for this type of developer support. Too bad they don`t listen to their third party developers. If not, take the Wowza development model as reference.
