High-Performance, Cost-Effective Real-Time Control and Data Processing Using GPUs – m11-092 – CTV

Uh unless, I am wrong I think GPU can only be used for backtesting not live trading due to the amount of time to move data from the CPU to the GPU in a live trading situation, Maybe things have changed over the last few years. As far as I know, FPGA is the best way to go if you are considering this.

Goldman Sachs Trading Cash Machine and their ULTRA Proprietary Program Trading Profits Machine

Goldman Sachs Trading Cash Machine and their ULTRA Proprietary Program Trading Profits Machine

Think of this:

90% profits of $13 billion in prop trading in 2012

75% of 2009 profit from trading (during the financial meltdown)

Man, there are those crazy numbers for their trading side. I think they do other 10% of proftable activity really is where most of their expenses reside. What a waste to have deadweight departments like M&A, credit, bank, tax, etc. I don’t they really need to do these while trading.

Don’t get me wrong, this is still an evil company as these news stories portray. All I am saying is that their trading is the most important division. This is all you should care about.

Imagine this? What happens if you were able to scale up your most profitable trading ideas. You know, in dozens of automated trading processes  in parallel? That would be potentially have profitable trading person on your desk. Is it possible? Of course!

Small Rackmount Servers the board will work with:
1U
SuperMicro X8DTG-D

The accelize card also requires a 1u server.

You may have to build your own system, but you can get it from here:

Q&A on HFT of Microsoft Windows .NET vs C++ on Linux, and MongoDB NOSQL software vs FPGA hardware for ultra lowest latency

Q&A on HFT of Microsoft Windows .NET vs C++ on Linux, and MongoDB NOSQL software vs FPGA hardware for ultra lowest latency

From a member through Linked In:

Hi Bryan, I have a few questions:

1) Why use VC++ and C# .NET/Windows? C++ on Linux is what HFT firms use. Name one that uses Windows for anything but the Front End.

–> Lots of hedge funds in UK use .NET. This has been confirmed by many sources of quant contacts I know. I worked at CPP-IB as they were a .NET shop.

2) A custom in-memory database written in C++ would be much faster than almost anything on the market. A relational DB like MYSQL or NOSQL DB like Mongo would be much too slow for HFT.
Any thoughts on this?

–> It all depends on how you manage your memory, data types, and programming patterns you use. The one system I know of is using MongoDB which is incredibly fast which does real time analytics. Either way, FPGA is the lowest latency for HFT so any software methods are  secondary.

3) Have you ever thought about contacting Mathworks and asking them
to give your membership the ability to purchase the matlab student edition? They get some of the best free advertising from you. You could also allow them to advertise on your site.
–> They will offer only through accredited universities. I will be working on Mathworks on other events.
