Matlab cluster setup instructions to This came from someone local who has got a solid system in place: Three that are hosted 1 is a web server (for tracking realized PNL) 1 is a database server (for holding data) (always good to have DB on its own machine) 1 is the application server (for calculating real-time entries and exits and tracking open/closed positions) Two that are at home 2 are calculation servers. (building support vectors, neural networks, and optimizing returns) The matlab cluster is pretty easy to setup. You just need win2003 or win2008 and a domain controller. If you get the latest matlab download from your favorite torrent site it will hook right up to the lan and use the domain controller to talk with other machines. (It might be possible to set it up without a DC but I didn't try) If you get the HPC win2008 download this is supposed to be built specifically for HPC.. Run mex -setup to have Matlab choose your systems compiler
You need to do this before running the Matlab 2011a Coder toolkit. For some reason, it only identifies my Microsoft compilers but not the gcc open source.
