Seriously, can you monitor searches on Google for the new way to reliably predict stock market activity?

Seriously, can you monitor searches on Google for the new way to reliably predict stock market activity?

As usual, it seems these fools never mention on how Google Trends has severely limited ways to use the service in including the number of requests. I am sure they will sell you something

The Search for the Perfect Strategy using Quant Analytics

The Search for the Perfect Strategy using Quant Analytics fxtechstrategy.com

In my seven years of being involved in the world of trading, I have never met a fellow market speculator who has at some point in their trading journey not gone looking for the perfect set of technical tools or indicators.
==The chase for the holy grail will never stop. I find that when you have “the grail:” the conditions change, and you experience a loss.
==The word in the title which is wrong is ‘perfect’. – If you search for the ‘perfect’ strategy you will never find it because it does not exist. – Perfection is an ideal no one can ever achieve in the long run.
==Just find the crappiest strategy in the world and do the opposite. (To an extent)
It’s a lot easier to find a really crummy strategy.

Quant analytics: Anyone into Stock Pattern search in Image ?

Quant analytics: Anyone into Stock Pattern search in Image ?

Anyone into Stock Pattern search in Image ? Need some input or direction to look further into this.

Although I have experience in image processing, I cannot find it as useful or efficient in finding stock patterns. I think, first, you should make clear what patterns you are looking for? Known patterns (such as head and shoulders, triangles, etc)? or unknown (hidden patterns) – something new?

If you are looking for unknown patterns, I would suggest you to start from:

a) Using template grid – template matching – see this article:

http://www.google.gr/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=chart%20patterns%20template%20grid&source=web&cd=1&sqi=2&ved=0CCQQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fciteseerx.ist.psu.edu%2Fviewdoc%2Fdownload%3Fdoi%3D10.1.1.100.1086%26rep%3Drep1%26type%3Dpdf&ei=ZpfzTrz7JYaxhAept5yfAQ&usg=AFQjCNEA3p_4hFTKquao2vDepR75Y7gj-A

b) Correlation Pattern Matching (various algorithms).

Till now I am scanning known patterns with VB.net but downloading raw tick data is bit slow with VB.net where pattern search algo is fast. I was wondering if anyone else is also into this to guide me how to refine/improve my search and I mean Algo here

New enhancements to Memberships services include search, symbol description, stock chart capabilities

New enhancements to Memberships services include search, symbol description, stock chart capabilities

I have added some new enhancements to the Quantlabs.net Premium Memberships services area
These include:
Better search capability: Yes you can search any symbol you want or any particular model we use. It is global so you choose the results you want.
Stock symbol code converter to stock description: The symbol codes like AAPL can be overwhelming so unless you know what they represent (ie. Apple Computer). As we report the charts and plots, you will find we use the stock symbol codes (i.e. AAPL). Under the headline, look for the stock symbol description like Apple Computer under the Tags. You will also find the symbol code there too. This has yet to be fully implemented across the whole membership area.
Lastly, we have integrated StockTwit.com as well. You can get more info through this great site. I hope to contribute to this site as well. It is full of active traders talking about various stocks.
Cool? Let me know by commenting below.
