Next generation crypto alt coin outperorm long term vs bitcoin and major market assets

For today, new generation crypto all coins are doing pretty decent still. Not as great compared to last month but still outperforming. I am starting to think Bitcoin should no longer be the speaking voice of all crypto currencies.

The VIX is still to high to show no clarity in the markets. What does the mean? It might show the market sentiment may see a drop which will be most likely news or macro event new driven down.

Python’s Popularity Outperform JavaScript Eventually

I would love to see this happen. I just find working with Javascript is so wonky and is only single threaded. When I look at the advantage of using Python over Linux shell or bash language, it seems to be more convenient to stick with that methodology. Transferring variables and data frames from one function to another is highly convenient. I hope to this happen sooner than later. Also remember it is predicted that Python will be the most popular language within the next three years for that.

ETF outperform hedge fund and S&P 500 according to Vanguard founder

ETF outperform hedge fund and S&P 500 according to Vanguard founder

A while ago I posted this video below. I wanted to add the following articles that came out to prove that ETFs are the way of the future for trading individuals. No more betting with individual stocks or underperforming alternative funds.

“There is deep disenchantment with hedge funds among large investors. People have been paying extremely high fees for very poor performance — performance even a zero fee wouldn’t justify….

The latest figures, which were compiled for FTfm by ETFGI, the consultancy, capture investors’ waning interest in hedge funds. Pension funds in US states including Illinois, New York, Kentucky and Rhode Island, have eliminated or reduced their holdings. The largest US public pension fund, Calpers, announced in 2014 that it was withdrawing entirely after concluding hedge funds were too expensive and complex.

“Trade union trustees on the boards of public pension plans on both sides of the Atlantic have been pushing for ETFs while stock markets have set record highs. They believe that unless and until hedge funds regain their mojo, ETFs are a better, simpler and cheaper alternative.”

Warren Buffett, the billionaire investor and an outspoken critic of fund managers who profit from high fees at the expense of their clients, bet in 2007 that a Vanguard S&P 500 index fund would beat five funds of hedge funds selected by Protégé Partners, an investment company, over the next 10 years.

Also remember that Vanguard is driven by HFT technology as well

The best part of this while argument are there are morons in these industry who think otherwise. It is time they get it together to fully understand small alternative funds either need tp perform or will be shutdown as more institutional funding will go towards performing ETF firms like Vanguard and Blackrock.

Fundamental analysis outperform quant or machine learning?

Does fundamental analysis outperform quant or machine learning?

There has been a burning question I’ve had for the last number of weeks. It is:

Do the returns of quantitative analysis or machine learning exceed simpler fundamental analysis?

From the expert reports I have been reading, which there are few, say there is no difference between the two. This begs the question of:

Why are highly educated scientists blowing their brains out with these more complicated modelling techniques for performance of simple fundamental?

I even made a video about this and lessons learned from it.

Intro overview of MongoDB open source NOSQL database Mar 29

Coming up this Tuesday is my one time only topic of the database I’ll be using for my upcoming high speed trading system. Even more confusing with all the database options, this is my solid choice which does meet all the strict requirements for my years invested in research. My database of choice will focus on open source NOSQL MongoDB. Again this will be the only time I’ll be covering this topic live.

This database is used throughout my high speed automated trading system so this topic will be a requirement to understand how my trading scripts work.

Tough to find reports but looks like the results are the same.

There are no noticeable differences in performance between quantitative and fundamental managers in the value space

In fact, investors should combine fundamental investment strategies with quantitative investment strategies to increase their risk adjusted returns since empirical evidence suggests low correlation of returns between these two approaches.

So why implement all these complicated processes that offer the same result or performance? Do these newer skills like quant or machine learn result in wasted if the results are the same?
