Q&A on why the future of my Quant Elite membership with new strategies and coding workflow
This came in via Facebook:
Hi Bryan, I came across your site QuantLabs and I am interested to learn more. Just to enquire, I’ve come across one of the pages on your website selling the course for $999 and another page advertising the membership for $1500 on the first month and $100 recurring?
–> Yes we have both rates but will be launching a campaign hopefully soon around this. There will be a $97 per month to maintain membership status as this is a way to stay engaged.
I’d like to know, does the membership include the access to the course?
–> You get access to everything listed in my QuantLabs.net Academy plus private topics not listed anywhere. This includes a private FPGA video series for HFT deployment. Yuu get all access to my source and video code walkthroughs which is many many hours worth
Also, I am fairly new to algo trading and I was wondering how long did you take personally to reach where you are today?
–> This is something which is end to end. I try to streamline the proper processes and components to building your own trading costs and infrastructure
development. In terms of where I am and going, I will be focusing on a few workflow for easier algo development through Matlab’s Mupad to C++ code generation via Simulink Coder. This can also lead to FPGA deployment for ultra lowest latency. As for how long this took me, say 3+ years with my expertise in software development. SO imagine how much time you could save in terms of frustration. There are many horror stories out there.
Are you running a profitable trading strategy at the moment?
–> If I had a profitable juicy constant strategy, do you think I would really need to offer these memberships? This is how I keep the lights on around here over the last few years. Once I achieve that strategy, I think it could be worth way north of $1500. Probably add a few zeros. Plus I would NOT tell the world how I got there. My members will get access to my results but they will not be publicized. I
Sorry this is so wordy, hope to hear from you soon! Thanks and Best regards!
–> Thanks and don’t worry as I am her e to help but my time is getting cruched to help non members
Hope this help.

Thanks Bryan for your response I really appreciate it. You mentioned that you will be launching a campaign soon, what is that about?
–> A complete webinar marketing effort (Just keep your eyes peeled to our Quick Notice Bar at the top of www.QuantLabs.net
Anyway I still have a couple of questions because I am fairly new to this field but I am keen. I have some experience coding in Java but I hear that for algo and hft trading, C++/Matlab/R are the preferred languages?
–> I have worked with Java but it has gotten more complicated to get things done as compared to .NET and C#. Matlab makes it much easier than R where it is quite primitive compared to the features of Matlab. C++ is the way but I hope my Simulink code generation to C will pay off for my algorithms. I am just trying to find the easiest and most efficient path to get stuff done.
Also, for hft strategies, I understand that the machine running the code has to be collocated for better latency?
–> You need to be on exchange or at least with a brokerage that has the resources to get your platform close to the market. We have investigated that and our thoughts have been confirmed by the likes of Ernie Chan. You need a large account to pull off true HFT
Or is it possible for me to run that on my home pc as well?
–> uh no but you can still automate trades with what I got
Other than FPGA developments, do you have material for CUDA/OpenCL ideas as well?
–> Yes Matlab Distributed Computing Server shields you from the complexity of all this. You just need a compliant GPU card for it. It can easily be implemented via teh Matlab Builder NE. Any other way is a messy process I would not advise. As for this GPU/CUA, I do think Simulink is sufficient to provide all the necessary heavy computing power for backtesting and order flow.
Such that a gpu can be utilized to run trading strategies on parallel and whatnot?
–> See above
Thanks Bryan for your help! Most likely I will be joining your community soon. Take care and god bless!
–> No sweat
I now post my TRADING ALERTS
into my personal FACEBOOK ACCOUNT
. Don't worry as I don't post stupid cat videos or what I eat!
