Rentech HFT tech jobs reveal some secrets

Rentech HFT tech job descriptions reveal quite a bit

Over the weekend, I posted a variety of technical postings. First it was studying the high-frequency trading job market where I’ve always used companies like Renaissance Technologies (also known as RenTech) as a source of inspiration for tech choices. I found rare job descriptions from Renaissance so I made an entire video out of it.

Out of the study came 2 training paths of thought. First is the selection of using UNIX versus Linux. So that led me down the path of playing with a free open source version called FreeBSD.

Check out the job description with my thoughts on Renaissance Technologies

As mentioned, the other path mentioned is the use of kdb+ which is a column stored in memory high speed database. The closest I came across was monetDB which is also open source. As you know, I will be doing an entire topic on Redis live tonight for all my Quant Elite Members. If you want immediate access to it, go here

I would encourage you to get the best deal that you’ll find here

I would also like to mention that I will have an open discussion on Monet DB tonight as well as last weeks Mongo DB had concerns of pure SQL. This new database choice seems to address it. For now, I will only comment in this live event tonight for all my Quant Elite members who attend tonight.

Software programming skills in demand for jobs

Dice.com which is the biggest technical recruiting website in America has posted the hottest technical skills to have for jobs. Personally I was quite happy to see that Python is “hot”  as well other ones I would’ve expected to be in the same classification. Unfortunately this was not the case.

I have posted a brief video to explain this

Demo of pair trading watchlist in Python

I would like to add that I have demonstrated the “nerve center” of this new trading system through a automated watchlist for any pairs that could be entered or exited in the markets. I go over the use of no SQL Mongo DB as well. Unfortunately I have to forward all my Quant Elite members to a 45 minute detailed coding walk-through with Python source code.

Check out this quick demo of my watchlist for automated trading

As said all of this is available for my Quant Elite members.

I have also hinted that this will be part of my I will be starting this NEW course series in a few weeks. Plus you don’t want to miss that with the live interactive question-and-answer sessions. So be on the lookout for the upcoming announcements via this email newsletter.

This is the ultimate real time gauge for your IT skills. This is from a large IT recruitment site. I was sort of surprised what is not ‘hot’ but Python remains that way.

R is not so much nor Java or C++..
