JForex JVM heap size MAY prevent your system from crashing
This solution prevented my JForex from crashing. It was originally set at 512mb but it is now set at the max which is 4 gb approx. As this automated has survived the night, it appears this was the best solution so far. Also it has been running for well over 12 hours where the amount of heap spaced used is 14. gb out of 3.6 gb internally of JForex. I would recommend attempting this fix before another server with mega amounts of RAM like 32 gb for instance.
Dukascopy Jforex historical tester is full of strange bugs
This historical tester in Dukascopy JForex is pretty weird. I get this event error when trying to run my strategy:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: The chart cannot be opened for AUD/JPY, select AUD/JPY before testing @ jforex.strategies.sdk.QLNStratFXVol3d.setupChart(QLNStratFXVol3d.java:680)
I do leave the AUD/JPY open before trying this.
I can run it no problem in my demo account so I have no idea what is causing it. Nor do I care as I can just run this thing in regular test mode against all my 40 + subscribed currency pair instruments. I am sure this is caused by something stupid but it looks like sloppy internal programming to cause this. Not only that, you would think the idiot architecture person would have come up with better messaging. I have so much confidence that Dukascopy support is so useless it will get ignored or take a year for a fix. This is just one more reason why I believe ‘rolling your solution’ can work in your favor.

As I will most likely watching over 40+ instruments on a minute chart, this can be a memory hog. Even the 14 gb Windows struggles with mutithreading so I am looking at lear 32 gb or maybe even 48gb if i start adding CFD for commodities.

Looking forward to 2018 with this new setup! Happy New Year as well.

Someone asked for this on my list newsletter list
I’m not so interested in your courses but more interested in your signals would that be within your chat room ? if so when does that go live. Little confused how to tell if signals and analytics will be within a chat room subscription or are there separate subscriptions for these or do I’ve to be a quant elite subscriber to see all this ? I’m not a programmer by no means, I’m currently using the Nanex datafeed right now for my analysis.
thanks, appreciate your feedback!
Thanks for the interest. As I am trying to improve this strategy with more profitable exits, I am hoping to get the signals working within a week. It just depends on getting more consistent winning trades. Also, they can be posted within my chat room but they can also get posted as a regular blog post in the membership. These signals are intended for non programmers like your self. As you know, I am using Dukascopy for now but have access to IQFeed which is the same source as Nanex I believe.
