My not so nice so letter to a monee grabbing IT recruiters who are as useless as used car sales men
I really hate recruiters. I actually despise them as they never get back to you on a professional level on either side of the coin. This includes candidates or employers. It is only if it involved $. They can go crawl under the rock they came from . I never have NO problem finding very highly qualified people. Go to Linked in and pay for it like the rest of you. Or better yet, post on your free Craigs List not on Meetup. I try to keep the groups as commercial free as possible.
Here was his open request on my Meetup (Also a sign of desperation). P.S. I use only use one recruiter on the planet so knows who he is. BTW the hates your kind to. I guess I will not be on any recruiters Xmas card lists any more.
I am the lead recruiter for a reputable Toronto recruitment firm and have a number of progressive positions that I am currently trying to fill including an IT Technical Operations Manager, Intermediate VoIP Engineer, User Interface Developer – Front End and Back End, Web Development, Front-end Developer, Curriculum Architect and Visionary, Senior Java Developer, and a Full-Time Technical Architect. If you’re interested in any of the positions, or know of anyone that would be interested, please send me an email and I will forward you the details.
1L How many using R and any benefits from it? 2: Anyone using Splunk for big data that has become the search engine for IT?
1. Not using R (yet)
2. Love Splunk. It was very easy to set it up and get instant insight into what’s going on in the company.
R is fantastic, though I’m not using it daily (yet). I’ve been able to do basic segmentation, explore distributions, make basic graphs and do basic GIS analysis. I’ve done a logistic regression (1) – but this isn’t a tool i’m super familiar with, so haven’t played with it too much.
With instructors for some recent statistics graduate courses I took, it is the preferred analysis environment and rivals SAS, in amount of use. Most recently, I have used it for my own research in survival analysis.
