How to build multi GPU CUDA for deep learning/machine learning ?

I still question Nvidia CUDA vs Intel since it is quite proprietary which maintains 3 open source libraries

Thanks to someone on my Skype who sent this

Questions for people:

have you looked at intel’s library support for co processor vs Nvidia CUDA

i find CUDA is too proprietary since your need a non C++ compliant compiler (e.g. GCC) to use it the CUDA library (or am I wrong?)

Step by step guide to build automated trading system

Step by step guide to build algo trading

If you were looking for a step-by-step guide in building out an Algorithmic/Automated Trading System, this posting below might be a decent start. It comes from a Quant Institute out of India.

Will Bitcoin be the hottest trading opportunity as it doubles

If you have been following me for a while, you know I do this day in and day out. It’s not an easy process but there is no easy road to riches using any of these methodologies. If you follow something that looks easy, you may easily get wiped out or in fact lose money because you didn’t fully understand how the markets move. This is why I take my time learning the true fundamentals of how markets flow in all major asset classes.

However, there are always weird anomalies. Take for instance the recent doubling of bitcoin over the last three weeks. I’m sure no one really saw this coming. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose. If you had picked the bottom properly with some money into this trade, you would’ve doubled it without no explanation. Go figure but if you add this asset to your watch list in an automated way, this could’ve been for sure the trade of the year with little effort.

Check out my video backstory of this bitcoin query

As I said sometimes you get some surprises while you’re learning about the markets and the same time building out a trading system. If you’re a Quant Elite member, you will have been taking full of advantage of my current arbitrage/pair trading strategy which will be permanently remove within 25 days. Time is of the essence here as it it runs out for this content!

There are many many other benefits including building out the Automated Trading system you desire. This is all done with Python/C++ with source code provided.

Tips to build wxWidgets C++ for Ubuntu Linux

Here are some notes to help

https://www.wxwidgets.org/downloads/
../configure --enable-unicode --enable-debug

configure: error:
The development files for GTK+ were not found. For GTK+ 2, please
ensure that pkg-config is in the path and that gtk+-2.0.pc is
installed. For GTK+ 1.2 please check that gtk-config is in the path,
and that the version is 1.2.3 or above. Also check that the
libraries returned by 'pkg-config gtk+-2.0 --libs' or 'gtk-config
--libs' are in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH or equivalent.

You may need to do:
apt-get install libgtk2.0-common
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=113419

Also, edit your Ubuntu bash profile
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1707261
vim ~/.bashrc

Add your GTK library to LD_LIBRARY_PATH
http://www.mathematik.uni-ulm.de/help/gtk+-1.1.3/gtkfaq-2.html

ALso, try installing with as this worked for me:
apt-get install libgtk2.0-dev

Install java 8
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer
http://tecadmin.net/install-oracle-java-8-jdk-8-ubuntu-via-ppa/#

I had serious issues with configuring Netbeans and Eclipse IDEs for wxWidgets, but it
seems CodeLite IDE has preconfigured settings for wxWidgets.

http://askubuntu.com/questions/330268/how-to-install-codelite-on-ubuntu

sudo apt-key adv --fetch-keys http://repos.codelite.org/CodeLite.asc
sudo apt-add-repository "deb http://repos.codelite.org/ubuntu/ $(lsb_release -sc) universe"
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install codelite wxcrafter

Why build your machine learning algo from scratch

Why build machine learning algo from scratch

I have been told over and over again to roll my own trading software solutions. Over the years, it is a highly valuable tip but impractical for a one man coding show. But there are good reasons for lazy developers and Quant wannabes who just rely on results from easy prototyping libraries. Just think of it this way, if the results are wrong they will be smoked out of the market faster than they even start. Maybe they should fall into the dumb money Sheeple movement I always hear about.

If you have not followed this advice, it is sort of critical to understand the lower level of the frameworks you use. If not, it could cost you potentially thousands of dollars depending upon the trading positions you put on.

Build AIO Trade with Java Scala

Build AIO Trade with Java Scala

I am revisiting this open source software from the old video below. Here are my instructions to run for both version of Java (old from SourceForge) with a newer in Scala from GitHub

Install AIOTRADER

Download https://sourceforge.net/p/humaitrader/wiki/Home/

Run aiotrade in Shell but:

Cannot find java. Please use the –jdkhome switch

Note SVN command  at https://sourceforge.net/p/humaitrader/svn/HEAD/tree/

svn checkout svn://svn.code.sf.net/p/humaitrader/svn/trunk humaitrader-svn

Download Netbeans SE IDE

https://netbeans.org/features/index.html

You should be able to have aiotrade project recognized within Netbeans to build and run

Charting does not work from the SourceForge link! So trying GitHub version with Scala
