Here is a list of valid alternative data providers to IQFeed for market data and real time feed

Here is a list of valid alternative data providers to IQFeed for market data and real time feed:

Valid alternatives to IQFeed for real time market data for quant trading and research ? Kinetick, Ignite, Quandl and more – See more

Thanks to all for the input as this really helps me make a decision. All in all, here is what I think:

1. Kinetick could be a viable option but they don’t have real time data feeds overnight while the markets are closed.

2. ESignal is on par with IQFeed but double the price

3. Ultimately, when I start live trading with someone like Interactive Brokers, I don’t think I would use IQFeed anymore.

4. There are some new upstarts to potentially watch like Ignite.

Shall I say more?

Thanks again for all the all input

Bryan

OK. I  am hoping to finish off this high level of analysis of source code projects that are useful for future quant trading. As I have devised plans to help drill down to showcase what quant forecasting models will constantly profit under which conditions and for which market securities, this will easily be the most important benefit yet for my Membership

Quant opinion: Open Tick alternative is ActiveTick which is very affordable

Quant opinion: Open Tick alternative is ActiveTick which is very affordable

Someone commented below as an alternative to free OpenTick:

A good alternative for me was ActiveTick (they’re not affiliated with opentick,

I’ve double checked). They have C++ APIs for windows, linux, and mac osx, as

well as C# and Java. I must say their data stream is excellent, and is very low

latency (I measured 10ms for me, and I’m on the west coast).

http://www.activetick.com/activetick/contents/ActiveTickFeedOverview.aspx

It appears this is only twenty dollars a month. What? Here is the real pricing:

Maximum number of concurrently streaming symbols 500 2000 Unlimited

Monthly subscription fee $49.95/mo $89.95/mo $179.95/mo

Also included is:

Unlimited tick series queries Included Included Included

Unlimited bar series queries Included Included Included

Unlimited static quote queries Included Included Included

Unlimited static fundamental queries Included Included Included

Exchange licensing fees Included Included Included

U.S. equities and Forex exchanges Included Included Included

Unlimited usage of ActiveTick platform

As Borat once said, ‘Very nice!’ This could give all the other tick providers a run for their money.

IS TeaFiles and DiscreteLogics a decent cheaper alternative to SQL Server 2014 with market data internal memory for time series analysis?

IS TeaFiles and DiscreteLogics a decent alternative to SQL Server 2014 with market data internal memory for time series analysis? It is obviously more affordable for most people as well.

This was spawned by a comment at

https://quantlabs.net/blog/2014/02/automated-trading-system-debate-of-internal-memory-database-vs-relational-database-like-sql-server/

This works with all the popular programming languages like C#, C++, Python, R, and Matlab. Exciting as it is quite affordable as well.  It is obviously more affordable for most people as well.

I discovered this years ago but there have been some major enhancements since then. Here are some newer links:

Here is an updated version of FastFlow 2.01 :  http://alpha.di.unito.it/parallel-programming-framework/

Do note! I cannot complete the builds so if anyone can let me know how to complete, that would be appreciated

As with any open source C__ project, I have decided to put this on the backburner. The instructions to build on Windows are inadequate so I don’t have the patience to try any further.

Read BUILD file but do make Visual Studio projects via:

cmake ..

Also could use forVisual Studio 2012:

>cmake -G”Visual Studio 11 Win64″ ..
