actuary vs quant

Do not forget about the last few slots for the Quant Elite membership. This means you get immediate 10+ years archive plus 3 another years on what I do in the future. See the many benefits here.

What is the difference between quant vs actuary? Below is a video of this but see the description:

A lot of people have been asking what is the difference between Quants and Actuaries. Some have tried claiming one is nested inside of the other curriculum however this is wrong. In simple terms, quants are very focused in derivatives, financial risk management, and statistical arbitrage with heavy focus on programming as well. They require a minimum of a Masters (1-2 yrs) but prefer a PhD (5-7 yrs). Actuaries specialize in the insurance, pension, and health care industry with a broad range of topics covered including statistics, probability, finance, economics, and financial mathematics. It is very hard to jump from one (quant or actuary) to the other. Actuaries require exams which prevent quants from entering their industry. Quants require a Masters or PhD and prefer specific majors over others which prevents actuaries from entering the quant realm. Yes, there are people who go from one to the other but it is not very common due to the barriers.

Quant is pure math.

Thanks Bryan

Why you’re not a job-ready quant data scientist (yet)

Question is: What is data scrience? What is TRUE quant?

Yes the quant and trading world is going this direction. In fact, any analysis has a requirement of these skills.

Thanks for reading

Amateur Quants Analyst Suddenly Everywhere in China

Hey Have you seen this questions of what a amateu quant is? One comment of this is quite good found here ?

Amateur Quants are unskilled, unprofessional with no expertise & adequate knowledge. They are rookies. Just like a amateur trader who trades chart patterns, moving averages crosses etc.

This comment among others is found in my Facebook Quant programming group.

Help Me Secure My Future

This pretty well says it all about your future! I posted this on my social media which become pretty popular.

There 2 things I can take away.

I chose to get into trading to secure my own future. I know I cannot rely on some potentially corrupted financial advisor. I even had to listen yesterday to some hard luck dental hygienist whining about her advisor was putting his pocket before her family. That seems to be pretty way say it all according to mos hard working people.

Also, I am hearing schools in poor parts of Canada are even teaching teachers how to code. They figure if they want their students to have a future, they better start coding. Just look at that sign above again. It pretty says it all for our future.

This will pretty well become the new attitude of your next boss!

You might want to get that Python course before I double the price in coming days!!

Bayesian Linear Regression in Python: Using Machine Learning. Is R code walkthrough better?

If you are into machine learning, this is one popular technique used for forecasting. Actually, using Bayesian appears to be standard. Many people have like this posting which is an entire tutorial on how to accomplish this task. Here is the article for you:

This is the your chance to learn about behind the scenes of these trading patterns I presented on Monday night. I have made this replay video now private which means it is only available to my Quant Elite Members. This is a very limited and exclusive offering to access it! I even revealed the source of how the Python code was created to generate them, This will never be seen again after this Friday! It is way too valuable that I don’t need the world to know how these work.

This posting will be removed this Friday night Eastern Standard Time (same as NYC)!

I Want To Learn Trading Patterns Now

Get your access to this via my 3 month Quant Elite Membership if interested!

Please find the upcoming new items I will be adding the next few months for this membership:
