What programming language to use when algo or automated trading

I have just passed five years of doing QuantLabs.net. If you have been following me for a while, some of you may have noticed that I jump around various technologies. This includes: .Net, C-sharp, C++, Java, R, Matlab, many many databases, Windows, and various distributions of Linux. As my recent switch to Python, many thought I would resort back to one of the other technologies. Surprisingly I have stuck with it which means this could be the technology of choice for my new live trading system.

Go here to see my explanation of which programming languages to use when it comes to algorithmic based or automated trading

Intro to my Python algo trading course series

Coming up over the weekend will be some exciting demos I’ll be releasing in my usual videos. These new trading Scripts will be available for all my Quant Elite members. Be on the lookout for those.

These will also be part of my upcoming new “Course Series” on building out your first algorithm based trading system. This is how we will be able to secure your portfolio over the next few years. That is all because of volatility baby.

Check out the preview video here

As a reminder, I will be putting out my itinerary on the importance of YOUR trading infrastructure to build out these type of systems. My intention is to make them as simple as possible using only open source technologies enabling to keep it at a cost of free.

Thanks for reading

NOTE I now post my TRADING ALERTS into my personal FACEBOOK ACCOUNT and TWITTER. Don't worry as I don't post stupid cat videos or what I eat!

It also posts different unique tips and tricks on Java, C++, or C programming. It posts about different techniques in learning about Matlab and building models or strategies. It also discusses the future generation of trading and programming Specialties: C++, Java, C#, Matlab, quant, models, strategies, technical analysis, linux, windows P.S. I have been known to be the worst typist. Do not be offended by it as I like to bang stuff out and put priorty of what I do over typing. Maybe one day I can get a full time copy editor to help out.
