Matlab is expensive but here are the pros

its just too expensive
Think of this:
1. I know people some that spend thousands on programmers going nowhere but they could save tonnes if they do their own development
2. 90% of quant jobs are programming and Matlab is considered a standard in career
3. You never waste your time working on pathetic evolution of certain critical package updates breaking your R or Python environments. Ain’t your development wasting time worth a certain amount of money? Mine is as I can rapidly develop trading ideas in Matlab saving me wasted months on dumb bugs. I am living proof of that!
