R is the most popular environment it seems to research your trading ideas. It is open source and most of all a decent environment to work within like RStudio. It is also FREE. For me, this is not my ideal environment as I like my Matlab but not everyone can afford it when they start out. As a result, I created a special set of courses to get you up and running. As a result, I want to get you addicted to it. It is kind of cool to start within but you can eventually migrate to a more slick environment like Matlab or even hand coding to implement into an automated trading platform.
