I am revisiting old trading platform as Multicharts.net framework is proving to be frustrating to work with

As according to their forum, I have seen posting like:

I will start my post by showing how much development in MultiCharts .Net has frustrated me. There is little to no resource available to help a beginner. I have almost 2 years of experience with multiple trading platforms and APIs and i have never seen anything that is so scratchy with the resources it offers.

Now to one of many issues i have been facing. I want to take full control & track any orders that my strategy generates. I see no order events that can be used. Also, when trying to do some hit & trial, i run into trouble finding help about many of the Classes/Interfaces of the API. They are not even mentioned in the help file that comes with the editor. To name a few: IOrderControl, COrderPriced…

So for the $1500 or even $9000, I would have hoped to see better resources. As a result, what does open source not give me over this?

P.S. You really expect my 100+ members to work with this as I cannot figure it out? I was really excited with the amazing GUI but the back end development end is well…

UPDATES: On this revisited open source trading platform, I am able to build from source which was never possible. I am able to load the strategy DLLs easily. I will see if I can call my generated Matlab DLL. If this is possible and can be tested, it could possibly be bye bye MC.net. I will do some videos on this if it works!

NOTE I now post my TRADING ALERTS into my personal FACEBOOK ACCOUNT and TWITTER. Don't worry as I don't post stupid cat videos or what I eat!

About caustic

Hi i there My name is Bryan Downing. I am part of a company called QuantLabs.Net This is specifically a company with a high profile blog about technology, trading, financial, investment, quant, etc. It posts things on how to do job interviews with large companies like Morgan Stanley, Bloomberg, Citibank, and IBM. It also posts different unique tips and tricks on Java, C++, or C programming. It posts about different techniques in learning about Matlab and building models or strategies. There is a lot here if you are into venturing into the financial world like quant or technical analysis. It also discusses the future generation of trading and programming Specialties: C++, Java, C#, Matlab, quant, models, strategies, technical analysis, linux, windows P.S. I have been known to be the worst typist. Do not be offended by it as I like to bang stuff out and put priorty of what I do over typing. Maybe one day I can get a full time copy editor to help out. Do note I prefer videos as they are much easier to produce so check out my many video at youtube.com/quantlabs
