HFT backtesting potential with some open source stock market simulator options A couple in Java and one in Objective C
These are rather interesting. I don’t want to blow any cash yet on market feeds so I thought this would be an option. There seem to be 3 open source projects for this but Jessx looks the most promising. I have seen something similar at Rotman which is part of University of Toronto. I was blown away by its sophistication. Jessx looks similar so I may try it. I would I could have open source trading platform connect to simulate trade against but Jessx only serves up XML messaging. The Webcurvesim does output FIX so that may be an option as well. Swarm is not good option as it is in Objective C and needs to be in a MINGW which I am not a fan of. Let me see how this goes.
Here are the options:
Java
jessx.ec-lille.fr/index.php?page=downloads
http://code.google.com/p/webcurvesim/
Objective C:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/artstkmkt/ and swarm.org
NOTE I now post my TRADING ALERTS into my personal FACEBOOK ACCOUNT and TWITTER. Don't worry as I don't post stupid cat videos or what I eat!
