While Brazil continues to be the hottest emerging market in Latin America for high-frequency trading, the Mexican Exchange (BMV Group), is taking huge steps to boost its growth in the high-speed marketplace.

A POF can be useful for any project looking to secure a contract or show financial strength to other investors. (Film projects, businesses, commodities, and real estate – just to name a few.)

Why is this a good development? It is widely acknowledged that high-speed trading provides low quality liquidity that can (and does) disappear when markets become volatile. This leads portfolio managers to assume they are entering into highly liquid and low volatility positions (= safe, if you believe in EMH), when in reality this is not so.

I myself was very strongly against the introduction of HFT in the BMV.
