Relocation to Europe from America
I’m a software engineer who has been contemplating a move to Europe (Germany/France/Netherlands) recently, but everyone I talked to thinks getting a work visa in Europe is next to impossible. What has your experience been? Any software engineers out there who have done this through a bank/hedge fund? Is it easier if you’re an American citizen or does that not make any difference? Is it easier to move to any particular European country?

The bifurcation is simple for work visa purposes – EU passport and non-EU passport.

Actually, i have been told about the same thing, to move from here to US 😉
I am just guessing it may be simpler if one gets a job in a multinational company and asks to be relocated to a european branch.
