thank you for posting this discussion, I have not worked with MT4 directly but upgraded a number of strategies from retail to institutional platforms, the only challenge is the cost

In fact the challenges are rather greater going in the opposite direction. A “robust functional MT4 based EA” is a rather difficult thing to achieve in practice! Can you direct me to an example of one?
