Could Google ChromeOS with GWT eventually kill Android for mobile? New Chrome OS app store?
We all know that Google’s Android is not doing all that well for third party developers. Many say there is no real revenue opportunity for their apps as compared to Apple iPhone, iPod, and iPad platforms. There is one thing Apple or Microsoft has, Chrome OS.
According to a Wikipedia article, it seems there are many hardware manufacturers supporting Chrome OS. It seems that this will be a browser based operating system. I do believe that will be Chrome no different than how Apple uses Safari for its platforms on iPad and iPhone.
Here is where is it affects guys like me. As you know, I am working with Google GWT based application. Oddly, it also uses Adobe Flex and Flash embedded as a widget as well. As getting knowledgedbale with GWT, it puts me in a odd position of being an early adopter. GWT is right now making Rich Internet Appliances (RIA) pretty slick. If this framework becomes part of Chrome, OS, it puts me one step ahead of everyone else.

One quote:
Since we are talking trends this is purely speculation. But I suspect if the Google Chrome OS is well received and adopted it will position the Google Web Tool kit (GWT) as a larger player in the RIA space. I think the GWT will have ample integration with the Chrome OS and make GWT apps slicker and faster. Since the GWT does not profit from tooling like Flex and Silverlight, its conceivable that a big part of the Chrome OS sales could be driven VIA GWT adoption.
Hardware supporters include:
Acer, Adobe, Asus, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Toshiba[30], Intel[31], Samsung Australia[32], and Dell[33].
