As with the instructions at the above link, it seems to work. It was just setting up a Flash environment was a bitch! I would not recommend any of the current expensive Adobe Flash/Flex/AIR tools. They are complex and not free. I would recommend go with Flash 8 Professional from Macromedia. It is far easier to work with.
Note that this seems to work with Red 5 version 0.63. I had trouble with the current version of 0.9x
