This one burns my ass. I would have thought Larry Ellison is Satan in disguise. I thought they would have been smart to leave Sun’s Java technology alone as part of their takeover from Oracle. Talk about the ultimate Douche bag. What a dumb ass! Next up, they will pull the plug on My SQL as well. You read that here first. This is one more reason why I may start supporting .NET technologies from Microsoft.
Quotes:

“In developing Android, Google knowingly, directly and repeatedly infringed Oracle’s Java-related intellectual property,”
“This lawsuit seeks appropriate remedies for their infringement.”
“Google is under attack in a lot of different ways,”
“It shows the intensity of the fight between everyone trying to control the software.”
“It shows the intensity of the fight between everyone trying to control the software.”

Stats:

Google Chief Executive Officer Eric Schmidt previously worked at Sun. He joined that company in 1983, led its Java development efforts and then was promoted to chief technology officer. Schmidt took the reins at Google in 2001.

At least we know Microsoft won’t screw you over from a developer’s standpoint. That is what makes them the dominant player on the desktop.
