Thanks to Google’s Feedburner Social messed up my Twitter and WordPress blog and RSS feed
God. I sometimes hate new features. I can definitely see the potential of this feature Google has created but did it royally mess up my blog’s look and Twitter account. I now have over 1000 postings in this blog thanks to some weird bug or issues in my Feedburner account. It seems when I activated this feature, it would ping to my Twitter account. It would literally do this multiple times an hour. This would even happen to my old blog posts that get retweeted or mess it creates
What I do believe was happening was my WordPress plug in is synched between my Twitter account and this blog. When the Feedburner Socialize pinged by Twitter account, it would also get reposted on my blog. It would then go in circles for days which amounts to literally of thousand of postings on both my Twitter account and blog.
Even though, this Feedburner Social is a Google feature, it looks like something was spamming my Twitter account. I now had to disable as I did not want Twitter to think I was spamming it. It ran for two days and it looks very messed up. There is a really person behind this blog but this Google Feedburner Social feature really messed up. It was either that or the combination of my WordPress plug-in caused a deadly combination.
As said, I do see the benefit of this Google Feedburner Social feature as my Feedburner showed thousands of people my RSS feed. It was exposed thanks to this feature. I just need to know how to use it more smartly without this running in a crazy way. I may start up a second Twitter account point to my blog’s RSS feed. That may do the trick indeed. Sorry if the last few days looks like spam. Blame Google.
