The premium display ads industry is growing at 23% per year ($47 billion by 2017) and MediaGamma is the world’s first fully automated exchange allowing these Futures & Options to be traded just like another financial derivative. The co-founders of MediaGamma Rael Cline and Dr. Jun Wang will be giving an overview of this rapidly growing industry and how their trading platform can be used to dramatically improve the current market inefficiencies. The implications and opportunities for traders will obviously also be covered.

Biographies:
Rael Cline began his career in private equity where he worked at one of South Africa’s largest private equity firms. In 2011, he transitioned to mobile technology, co-founding AppChat, a mobile virtual network operator in South Africa, where he built the sales team and co-led the negotiations of major contracts and capital raising. Rael also spent 3 years lecturing final year undergraduate students on corporate finance whilst presenting and publishing papers on capital market efficiency.
Dr. Jun Wang is Senior Lecturer and Founding Director of MSc Web Science and Big Data Analytics, Computer Science, University College London (UCL). He is a pioneering researcher in information retrieval, data mining and computational advertising and has published over 70 scientific papers on the subject area. He’s been a technical advisor for a number of start-ups such as Last.fm, Passiv Systems and Polecat.
