Do neural networks and genetic programming really work to forecase the markets?

Can someone prove me wrong here:
I believe Genetic Algorithms have potential as defined in these webinars for Matlab.

Outside of this, I feel Neural Networks and Genetic Programming are not worth investigating. Many say these are for amateurs. This seems to be show that:
