Crypto currency vs forex webinar playback

Idea of questions came from:

First link

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1875390.20

Here were the questions to the participants:

1. Do you believe the volatility in crypto can make you more money ? Do you lose more if trading manually?

2. Does your major forex broker allow trading with crypto? Any small coins others than BTC, ETH, LTC etc? Do you see similar behavior in forex brokers as you would with large crypto brokers?

3. Outside of technical indicators, do you use any quant techniques? For example?

4. For crypto, which technical analysis indicators can work well in a predictable manner ?

5. If you can to choose which asset class, would it be only crypto or forex? Why?

6. Do you believe you need tens of thousands of dollars to be an effective forex trader? Do you also you can start crypto with literally nothing?

7. As a crypto trader, do you find it very difficult to trade dues to the unpredictability of it? Is there any predictability within forex? If so, what time frame an under what conditions?

8. Do you think the pricing behavior of forex and crypto are the pretty well the same outside of the unpredictable volatile nature of crypto?

9. Do you believe in this statement: main difference iin Forex, we could make big profit from it, but in crypto it made for little profit.

Or this statement: Money is so fast in Forex, so fast to bankcrupt too if you made a wrong position. Crypto is safer, money can multiply too if you spot a coin before it pumps. So my vote is for crypto.

How about hthis statement: Forex isn’t easy, yes, but the level of insider trading in crypto might just make up for that difficulty.

In other words, they’ve built up a sizeable long position over the past months and their breakeven is closer to $16-17k so this is a desperate attempt to pump and dump. Watch out for the con people and do not get suckered in. Miners are already churning faster than demand and it’ll all normalise on the bitcoin front this year. No more insane gains.
This is cool, then the fair value of 1 BTC will become > USD 400,000 HODL !

2. how fiat works and how the human economy works is even more cryptic, illogical and parasitic (than commensal). (given none of the other animals depend on this method of viability).

banks borrow with less rate and lend at higer rates! if this can work, then why not doge?

64 bit version Dukascopy Forex tips with Bitcoin crypto addition

64 bit version Dukascopy Forex tips with Bitcoin crypto addition

This is correspondence from some very knowledgable in Dukascopy JForex on tips for Memory, Installation, and surprise Bitcoin trading

1) JForex heap space
it says min. RAM 1GB here: https://www.dukascopy.com/swiss/english/forex/trading_login/
But it is too little most of the time.

Do you use 64 bit Java ?
Have you increased the heap size?
Probably you have, but just in case here come my instructions on this topic

—> I have done this which helps

2) Allow more memory usage of JForex
Don’t use the installed JForex, use Launch JForex 3 (No-installation) instead!
To increase the memory you have to edit the JForex start file, which you get from this website if you click on “JFOREX DEMO START”: http://www.dukascopy.com/swiss/english/forex/trading_login/marketplace_demo_login/
You can use the right mouse botton to save the file to a destination where you can find it. From there you should be able to edit it.

Here is everything in detail:
a) First of all please check your operating system. It has to be a 64 bit operating system.
b) Then check your Java version. It has to be a 64 bit version. If not, deinstall your current Java and install the 64 bit version. You can find it here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html
download the latest JRE 7, 64 bit version: Windows x64 . Take Java 7 as it is better tested with JForex. But it should run with Java 8 as well.
c) Instead of running JForex from dukascopy.com, you have to download the jForex.jnlp file on the hard drive and edit it as mentioned above.
d) Open the jForex.jnlp file and search for the following line :
<java version=”1.6+” initial-heap-size=”32m” max-heap-size=”512m”/>
e) Edit it and set the max-heap-size to 1512m or more. This gives JForex 1.5 GB of max. memory or more.
f) Then run JForex from the modified jnlp file on your hard drive by a double click. Log in.
g) Be aware: when Dukascopy makes JForex updates, you might have to download the new jnlp file again and redo the previous described steps.

-> Have not tried but prefer to run the downloadable self running without the JNLP option

You might then see that JForex uses way more memory than 700 MB, e.g. while back testing, you will see this usage in the task manager.
You can also watch your current JForex memory consumption in JForex by activating the box “Show Java memory heap”, you can find this in Menu Tools->Preferences->Advanced.

3) Running serveral JForex
Have you ever tried to open several JForex on the same account.
This shares CPU cores and should increase speed.
Maybe you should open 10 instruments per JForex. Subscribe only to instruments, which are used in the opened JForex.
—> that would be useful but a wonky programming trick. Would it not just be better to have more RAM on a server while watching more instruments? e.g. in my case 40 to 60+

—> Not bad so congrats on that. I am getting more comfortable but i may do topic of it next Monday

6) BTC/USD on Dukascopy
Have you also detect Bitcoin mentioned here:
https://www.dukascopy.com/swiss/english/forex/jforex/forum/viewtopic.php?f=113&t=56002
https://www.dukascopy.com/client/javadoc3/com/dukascopy/api/Instrument.html#BTCUSD
Seems they get ready for Bitcoin and Ethereum.

—> This is HUGE so thanks for these notes

BryanWelcome to 2018! Let’s kick ass this year!

Which Bitcoin crypto currency bot project? Gekko vs ccxt vs Tribeca vs Blackbird

This is so confusing but I lay it on the line with this query

We met sometime in the distant past, and we’re LinkedIn. Anyways, I was learning about crypto trading bots on YouTube and came across your videos. I was excited to see you’ve been checking out ccxt and gekko. I’m looking to experiment with arbitrage using automated software. I need to learn a lot… about a lot. First, I want to pick a tool and start looking at data. Where are you at with these and which would you recommend. I don’t know either JavaScript or Python so with would be fun to pick up.

BTW have you checked out Blackbird and Tribeca?

Which is most appropriate crypto currency exchange for you and Bitcoin trading

Which is most appropriate crypto currency exchange for you and Bitcoin trading

From the Telegram group so big thanks from this person:

I honestly don’t think there is such thing as a ‘best exchange’ at the moment, which is why most people I know in crypto have accounts with multiple exchanges (I have around 10 in total). Even the good ones have their flaws:

Coinbase/GDAX: I still think it is a safe bet in terms of their trustworthiness (backed by a huge company, tightly regulated in the US etc), but they only allow you to trade BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH and one or two fiat currencies depending on where you live.

Bitfinex: has a great platform and great trading conditions (high liquidity, good margin requirements etc), but as you know, there are some lingering question marks about some of their activities. For what it’s worth, I do have an account with them and I don’t think they are in the business of robbing their clients. If it weren’t for some of the bad stories coming out of Bitfinex, I would probably use them as my main exchange.

Bithumb: forget about it unless you live in South Korea; they only allow trading against KRW and is essentially useless for the rest of the world.

Bittrex: very liquid and a great selection of pairs–I have used Bittrex for most of my altcoin purchases in the past year. However, the trading fees are quite high, and the platform has been struggling to cope with the influx of new users (although, this is true for the vast majority of exchanges).

Binance: great selection of pairs again (they seem to be listing new coins much faster than Bittrex). As such, I now use Binance for a lot of my altcoin purchases. However, I’m not keen on the platform at all (it just feels really unprofessional), and one really irritating thing is that it only allows you to buy/sell cheaper altcoins in integer amounts.

Poloniex: there have also been some bad stories coming out of Poloniex, but I’ve never had a problem with them. My view of Poloniex is that everything is mediocre; mediocre selection of pairs, mediocre interface, mediocre everything. I don’t use it very often nowadays.

Which programming language for automated trading machine learning and crypto currency

As a reminder of that I have a video version of this which can be found here.

Another exciting article for you. Looking for the best programming languages, start here, an article of makeuseof.com. Okay, so the first section’s called Web Development. I would not recommend doing front end stuff unless you’re serving it up to the Internet. Obviously you are going have Java Script listed here. Python is a good one for web development. Mobile development, again, if you’re trying to develop for the Internet in a big crowd, from my perspective, I do like Apple technologies, but I haven’t played with the new Apple ML Core, for their machine learning stuff, but I see that there’s a lot of great advancement using Google Android. Google TensorFlow, and with Siraj Raval on his YouTube channel, you can find some deployment of quick and dirty TensorFlow models done in Python, which then can be deployed onto Android devices. So if you want to go down that path, that might be something to consider for Android. It’s a lot more work if you’re going to target iOS from Apple. So from my perspective, I would rather do the Android development. And not only that, but Android … I think the global market share of Android on mobile is like 80%, or in that neighborhood.

Now for desktop development we’ve got Java, JavaScript, C#, and Swift. Now, I do only use Java for just the sheer purpose of Dukascopy. This broker’s API for JForex is Java only. My technical stack, I prefer, to be honest, is really C++ and Python. So again, I was gonna mention about Python as the front end development for web. I’ve looked at a variety of framework for GUI development, graphical use or interface stuff, and to be honest, if you’re not looking for anything fancy, you could use Tkinter. That’s a standard package as part of the stock Python out there. It’s fairly easy to set up as well. There’s also a GUI rapid development tool called PAGE. You can easily find it on my blog or on Google which is interesting tool as well.

Mobile development, we’ve talked about. We also don’t care about game development. From last night’s social dinner, and I had a discussion about what developers prefer. R’s still out there, I just find it’s very difficult to extend outside but maybe with RCPP. Python is now used primarily, as you can see here, regularly used in data science. I think that’s a standard. Also, the same thing can be said with machine learning as well as cryptocurrency stuff.

So, that’s why I like Python. It’s a very diverse language. With R, you just don’t the same breadth of application use. And then, of course, I always will still love MATLAB, but I just don’t want to pay out heft licensing fees to have the privilege of using the software when you have an open source language like Python.

So, that’s about it. Always remember, to use C++ for the backend for fast stuff.

After yesterday’s announcement on one on one help I am offering in limited way, I will be beefing it up with some better structure to ensure I can help the right people are at the correct development path for their algo trading journey.

Thanks for reading
Bryan
